Firefighters in full gear

Public Safety U

Public Safety U is a school like no other – no homework, no tests, and super cool teachers: police, fire, and dispatchers.

Public Safety U Is Here!

Ever wondered what really happens when you call 9-1-1? Curious how police, fire, EMS and dispatch coordinate in real time, when every second matters?

Public Safety U pulls back the curtain. This brand new, one-of-a-kind program brings together the experts of the Dublin Police Department, Washington Township Fire Department and the Northwest Regional Emergency Communications Center to show you exactly how Dublin’s safety network works — from the first call to the final response.

Over 10 weeks, participants will engage in immersive classroom sessions and interactive, hands-on experiences across all four disciplines. You’ll learn how emergency calls are received and managed, explore police operations and decision-making, see how fire crews respond and operate on scene and gain insight into real-world EMS care.

Go behind the scenes. Meet the professionals. See how preparation, partnership and precision come together to protect our community every day.

This isn’t just a class — it’s public safety in action. Join us at Public Safety U.

Applications Open May 1, 2026. Click here to apply.

The class is open to the public; however, Dublin residents are given preference when selecting the class roster. All applicants must be 18 years or older and will undergo a background check prior to acceptance.
